OUR STROLL DOWN THE BEACH

BY

Laura Lee Christian

Soft sand beneath my feet
and my feet sink in the moistened granules
walking with my best friend
Sun glistens on the rippled waves
fanning themselves over the open bveach
and the sun warms our faces
as the warmth of our friendship
is felt too
as we casually stroll by the oceanside,
the crashes of the breakers
is a constant and soothing sound
in my ears
as we talk about nothing too important
or talk about nothing at all
the foaming cold white waves
rushing into each other
splashing into a cascade of
jumping, bouncing happy droplets
laugh as we laugh
on our stroll down the beach.
